Can someone provide more information on how the format works? It looks like you can bid online but they also have the auction in person.

You can attend and bid in person which will save a little on BP but you will have to pay sales tax unless you have a number so it will actually cost a little more.

Nice, thanks for the info. They've got a couple of books available that I want so I'm going to give them a try.

I was thinking on bidding on something but I have never heard of them before.

This is a good place to pick up certain kinds of comics. ;\)
Investigate and do your homework.

I watched some of the auctions. Lots of healthy bidding. There were a number of graded golden-age Planet Comics that went for respectable sums. My favorite was a Planet #2 in CGC 5.0 which went for I think $950.

There was also a big stack of comics with condition problems that went for around $1,800. It included several Timelys such as Blonde Phantom #20 and an early Captain America, as well as dozens of comics that could not be seen in the photos, so who knows what else was in there. It's always tempting to go after such lots just on the off-chance that there might be a hidden treasure like an early Action or something.

There was lots of silver age and the prices were pretty variable.

Morphy is top notch. I've known Dan Morphy for quite a while and he's got one the best run operations in the business. Having said that, he's new to comics and they are not his niche but his recent coupling with Sparkle City should close the gap for him.

Make a mental note of the Lot you are interested in, click the "View Larger Images" then find the Lot Number in the list of .jpg files.

Click on that.

An appalling design, and the practice of listing a random lot of books, here are the titles, no numbers, no full cover pics doesn't instil a lot of confidence.
