Today was the monthly Parsippany, NJ coin show featuring 100 dealers with a wide array of coins and currency. I was set up at this show with a friend of mine with an array of US type coins and some exonumia.

The sales floor was busy throughout the day with many of the regular faces and some new collectors. There were also some YN's that passed by and it was refreshing to see kids collecting. The highlight of my day was a young girl who was with her father. I asked her what she collected, and she said pennies. The father explained that her grandfather gave her his album with some lincoln cents and a few indian head cents, but they are still working on it. I always keep a few Indian head cents to give to kids. I handed her two, and the way her face lit up with the biggest smile just made my day! Hopefully she will become a long time collector.

I had a few wholesale sales where I moved large cents with problems for very fair prices. I was happy to move them. Also a common date $10 Indian in MS61. Retail sales included a 1855 Large cent in XF45 CAC, and a beat up Libertas Americana medal.

The overall theme of the show was how few quality coins are out there. I saw the same usual dipped/stripped early coins with very few original examples. There was a gorgeous seated quarter in NGC MS68 star CAC with amazing color. Some proof gold was also on the floor. It didnt seem like silver bullion was moving much and I didnt see much for sale. You can find nice coins at this show, but you have to look. And its usually the same people that carry them. Forum members I saw, some of which are are ATS include: DaveG, Joebb21, Halfhunter06, Halfcentman, Artarian, Seaeaglecoins made a cameo appearance, and Kiushu. I also had the pleasure of meeting David Kahn who specializes in bust material for the first time. I had a nice conversation with him about the bust market.

I purchased two coins at the show, both for my US type set. First was a 1893 Barber dime with pretty color in PCGS MS65. This coin recently sold for $920 at heritage, and I was able to purchase it for much less. And the second was a Wreath Cent my dealer friend picked up for me at Baltimore. That one is PCGS VF30 CAC. Pics of the barber dime are below, will post the Wreath cent shortly.

Thank you for reading!

Nice dime! Is there something in the "9" or "3?"

My thoughts exactly, Ankur. See if there is something like a die chip
located in the lower part of the 3 in the date.

I know there is at least one non attributed overdate out there !

Nice post BTW - at least I know you post here - so I can keep
up on your newps ! { MFH }

Here is the wreath cent. PCGS VF30 CAC. Has a few spots but the surfaces are hard with no porosity. The color is a nice smooth chocolate.

Nice pieces Ankur. Hope to see you around here more often.

Things tend to be a bit tamer on this side of the street.

I just reshot the barber dime. I think what you see in the date on the obverse are actually toning spots
