You are much less likely to get the NCS fee back, as they performed the requested service. They conserved the thing - they just didn't grade the medal or whatever it is. I thought you sent this thing in before with similar results?

nope first time go on this. i was going to but they kept sending back the "broken buff" instead of just charging for 2 coins they sent back and said " this will be counted as 2 coins so 2 grading fees would be due". so i took a 2 yr break from coins.
alot of my tokens and such are sent back with issues. seems that they dont grade what they dont know. if they have to do research the coin isnt graded.
the funny thing is 2 yrs ago i ask a question to both ngc and ncs about what the coin was so i knew what teir to send and no reply. now i send it and they say its wrong type. maybe if they would have looked at my question and picture i wouldnt have been left in dark and wasted time and money.
how does the ncs guarentee work then? cause either i get my fee back or they conserve once so often for free. if i wanted a detailing i would have dipped it myself.
being that i got good grades on the others im not angry but i sure wont be sending to ngc untill i get credit for my coupon.

I would call NGC Customer Service. Its customer service is excellent, and I am sure that someone there will be able to help you out.

What NCS guarantee?
NCS only has a guarantee of authenticity and it only applies to coins in an NCS slab, a service they no longer provide. There is no guarantee on the conservation, that's something you take at your own risk. If they try and conserve and it goes bad, or if it deteriorates again after conservation that's too bad, not their problem.

Or if you conserve it and the coin isn't graded by NGC, they have no guarantee.

I would have thought that an ineligible submission (type) would not be graded AND that the grading fee would be refunded. I think Ant should request and receive a refund.
Should requesting a refund also be politely done, as advised to do when asking for an explanation?
Will this insure receipt of the refund, or does being NY insistent work better, when asking for the money, as opposed to asking for an explanation?

Respectfully, John Curlis
Yes and no, in that order.
I don't know... the NY method seems to work, at least in Jersey..... Respectfully, John Curlis
