Hey GT (GhostTown).
Those are some fantastic Gil Kane covers. The early 70s saw some of Gil's best artwork. My favorites are the monster reprint covers. If you got more of those, I would love to see em!

In this month's Previews - "The Infernal Man-Thing" 3 issue limited series; Gerber's last M-T story, art by Kevin Nowlan (!), with a variant cover by Gil Kane.

A cool thing about about searching for Gil Kane covers is that I keep on coming across books I've never seen before. Like some of these, for example:

Certainly those covers that he inked himself sit in a special category by themselves. I could see starting a collection of the self-inked books, perhaps bookended by the Palmer and Janson books.

I have always considered it a shame when Kane had his work (especially faces) corrected by John Romita. I would imagine that Romita himself was not too fond of the job.

I try to imagine my collection as what could sit on the bookcase shelves of a slightly compulsive teenage boy who collects every Marvel, circa Christmas 1966. The collection would sit in neat piles beside a ball glove and an Aurora model of the Mummy. Perhaps a small set of "Lost in Space" trading cards, with an elastic band around them, would be nearby.
