As the upcoming Metropolis auction reflects, another Church "run" will be broken up (unless there is one maniac bidder). As time (and money) goes along, the ability to buy (or keep) a "run" of Church books is becoming less and less common or possible. To me it is one thing to see a Chuch book or two, but quite another to see a run----one beauty after another......
So.....what runs are still intact??? (It does not have to be Smash 1-Smash 63, but at least 10-20 consecutive books of part of the run.)
Presently, I have the Fantastic Comics, Mystery Men and Wonderworld (had to reassemble this one......) "run"s, Champion/Champion 7-19, 23,24 (sold 2-6)
Do not count my Crash run of only five books or Banner/Capt. Courageous since so few....but anything may count.
I believe the Planets are still intact
Not clear what Texas John (still) has......
Jumbo 1-8 count in my mind......
Thoughts, laments, "that is the way it goes......"
Inevitable, but at the same time a bit "sad" for this special class of comicbooks...

Vezryl has most of the Timely superhero books, a run of All American (IIRC), the Dentist has the early run of Actions. I thought the Planets belonged to Fishler. I got nuttin'.

Not apropos your question but I was once told that the Church Planets are the ones in the photojournal. Are yours in there Jon?
I did not dip into the Church addiction until after that. Many of the Centaurs in the Photo Journal are mine. In fact that is how Ernie and I first made contact was through those books. jb
I've got the Shield-Wizard run with the exception of 2, 7 and 12. I know where the 7 is as it has been posted on the board. I understand that the #2 was around a 2.0 and the 12 is unaccounted for.

The Church Planets are in tact. The current owner gave me a list of issues and he had all 73 except for about 5-6. Not sure if the ones missing were never in the Church collection or if a few were sold at some point. The issues missing in the run had no rhyme or reason to particular issues missing. Most are in the CGC Census as the highest graded. At the time of our conversation the #1 was not CGC graded.
I'm trying to reassemble the Northwest Mounties series. The good news is I only need 3 more. The bad news is it is only a 4 issue series, and I was recently outbid on one of them!
