Can't wait to get my scan and upload a pic here. My TMNT #1 finally came in graded a 7.5 from CGC. Turned right around and sent it off to Joey to get pressed and regraded. I'm hoping it can get bumped to an 8.0 or higher.

You didn't happen to buy that from ssalesfish, did you?

Actually the seller's name was "sirdadio". Here are the scans that were on eBay.

wow... those are some pretty good scans... looks like a lot of those break color, but I guess there are a good number of NCB creases that we (or at least *I*) can't see so well? Good luck! I'm really interested to find out how this comes back... I think I might send my copy to Joey as well... wonder if he can get the "Slight Amateur Color Touch" on the cover off...

Well guys, I got my #1 back in and I'm finally in the club! Super big thanks to Joey on his press job. The book went to him as a 7.5 and came out of CGC an 8.5!! I honestly couldn't be any happier and can't wait to mount it up. Truly my favorite book now. I know most of you know him, but in case any new guys don't. Joeypost is one of the most top notch guys I know and have ever dealt with. Excellent communication, customer service, and turnaround time. It was truly an honor doing business with him. Here are some quick scans. :cloud9::banana:

Wow. Congrats to the seller. That went for even higher than the recent 9.6 SS copy featuring a 1/2 body sketch of a turtle on the back from Eastman. It surprises me, but I'm happy for both parties.

I believe it was

#1 1rst: 3,000

#1 2nd: 6,000

#1 3rd; 12,000 (?)

#2 1st: 15,000

Thanks for the confirmation on the #1 2nd. :) Just for the accuracy of the info though, I really don't think that 3rd print # is correct - those 3rds are quite common. Thought it was

#1 1rst: 3,000

#1 2nd: 6,000

#1 3rd; 35,000

#2 1st: 15,000

Can anyone confirm?

This webpage states that Turtlemania gives the print numbers. Sorry my post is dragging up old stuff.

I've got a raw 1st print that I've owned since the Regan Administration. I purchased it in 85 or 86 from a Dr Who / Comic convention in Philadelphia for $35. It was already a hot book, and I had been reading the other TMNT books when I spotted that 1st printing. I believe me and my friend took the train there, so we were right around 16 but without car priveledges to drive to the city.

Anyone else in the club read Turtles before there were cartoons, cereals (I collected a collapsed box for a time), and a weak live action movie? I was already a Miller Daredevil fan having just discovered them reading backwards as I was able to find/afford that equally popular sequence, so the tongue-in-cheek parody by E&L connected with me immediately.

You have to take that list with a grain of salt however; because there are at least 2 listings there that are incorrect. Namely for Gobbledygook. The Turtlemania books claim there are 150 of Gobbledygook 1 and 2. There were however; 50 copies of each.
