Congrats!

Hopefully we won't see another event like the great recession for another 60+ years.

I am still on the hunt for a job. It's been about seven weeks since I lost my job. I have had four interviews so far. One company politely declined to continue the hiring process with me and I haven't heard from the other three yet. I am still applying for positions, but here in Vegas the pickings are more than slim.

I have primarily been looking for a position in the SF Bay Area, where my wife is from and where she wants to go back to. There are quite a few jobs available up there. In fact I just applied for two sales jobs today, one for the Giants and one for the Raiders. It'd be great to work in pro sports, but it'll be a long shot.

I am sure that I will be working again by May. I can only recommend that people who are looking don't give up, be open to trying something new, and work with recruiters.

So I finally found a job and in a completely different field. Starting tomorrow I will begin working at Citibank as a personal banker. I took a huge paycut by taking this job, but I am happy that I finally found a position. I had to relocate to take the job too. I now live in the SF Bay Area. My wife is happy because her entire family lives here. It's a new beginning, but I surely will make the best of it.

Well done and congratulations! I can think of a LOT of worse places to relocate than SF.

If anyone has 5+ years in project management and/or strategy consulting with an emphasis on financial services, an advanced degree and looking for a job in the Boston area, shoot me a PM. I'll be upfront with you if your qualifications match what we (a large financial services firm) are looking for.

It's not an IT-focused job, FWIW. More on the internal strategy/management consulting side.

"If anyone has 5+ years in project management and/or strategy consulting with an emphasis on financial services, an advanced degree then you are overqualified"

i've been unemployed for almost 5 months now. 11+ years in the Security Field. Looking for anything in the Los Angeles area. Been to a couple of interviews (took a month off after i lost my last job, then had to wait 2 months for my guard card)...hopefully won't be unemployed too much longer, as it sucks.
