After having read the "Which SA Book After AF15?" thread in the General section, my interest was sparked regarding the current and future hierarchy of the Marvel Silver Age keys.
As a starting point, I looked up every Silver Age Marvel book in the guide to have a 9.2 value of $5K or higher. That left me with a list of 26 total books (unless I managed to overlook any). Below the 9.2 guide values are the CGC Census figures (updated as of 3/5/12).
Staring from the left: Universal - Qualified - Signature Series - Restored - (Total)

I'd like to be able to include a list of record-prices recorded for each book respectively, as it would be interesting to see how much has been invested into some of the top examples the market has to offer.
Perhaps after some discussion, we can start up a poll similar to the one done last year, only this time there will be no "Marvel vs. DC" debate.

Now we just have to get more board members involved so that we can develop a good discussion. There are so many great books that the SA has to offer, so I find it incredibly interesting to investigate the nuances that make them unique unto themselves.

Real cool list Bro! Great data!!!! Been looking at it alot! Real interesting to see a number of graded to see what issues have been graded more of..and what issues less!

Keep in mind of course that various books possess various motivations to slab.
Amazing Fantasy #15 for instance is the most iconic book of the entire SA. Slab collectors will want to send raw copies into CGC for a resto-check, verification of grade, etc. Re-sale incentive also exists, though this is pretty much true for any book, no doubt that "sellers" will want to maximize their return on investment through third party grading.
I'm going to generalize here, but collectors seeking a TTA #35 for instance, might be more interested in the book for the book as opposed to investment-potential. The two pretty much go hand in hand, but my point is that more popular and liquid books are more likely to be slabbed, thus skewing the perception of "rarity".
Popularity will drag existing copies out of the woodwork and into the hands of CGC for slabbing. If TTA #35 suddenly reached (for whatever reason, however unlikely) the value-rate of AF #15, the census figures would increase dramatically.
Still, for slab-collectors in a SA market who prefer their books to be graded by CGC, census figures do give us an idea of "rarity" in respects to the availability of already-slabbed copies.
You're going to have a tougher time finding a Journey Into Mystery #83 than an X-Men #1. That's just how it is.
