I did not know there was actually an Australian product named "Vegemite" I thought it simply an obscure reference in an 80s Song. Watching "the Hunter" last weekend I saw one of the characters preparing a Vegemite sandwich, so I researched Vegemite and found it to be a staple in Australia. Anyone ever eat a Vegemite Sandwich?

We get Marmite in the U.K. which is much the same (probably blasphemy to say that to an Australian). It's yeast extract. Tastes all right, although I rarely have that stuff. I can't see why it would be such an emetic like in the video, but then if you've not grown up with it, it's probably 'orrible. An acquired taste, perhaps.

There isn't. Marmite is a yeast extract which was originally a byproduct of brewing beer (it started being manufactured in the 19th century). Vegemite is much the same. The meat spread / concentrate that you get in U.K. supermarkets is called Bovril.

Is Bovril not a beef stock concentrate?I heard it was a Canadian invention intended as a hot drink to warm you after or during a brisk skate on the Ottawa canal

Definitely beef stock concentrate - I had no idea it originated in Canada, though.
