The WC team will be at a big disadvantage as it will have used its Ace in the WC game, and may have used an all hands on deck appreoach to the game.
That said, its still a stupid rule, one adopted only to eliminate the extra travel day.
Next year gets even worse.
There will be interleague play all season so a team could be contending for the playoffs but have their last series on the road in a NL park and lose their DH. Imagine Red Sox finishing the season with Ortiz on the bench while Yankees play at home with a DH.

HOWEVER................................ Lower-seeded teams will host first two games of Division SeriesREALLY?  So the #1 seeds in both the AL and NL this year will have to start off on the road.  Very possible the #1 seed could easily be down 2-0 going back home where they are forced to have win 3 games in a row.
You can't have it both ways. If the WC team used it's best pitcher in the WC game, and still, b/c of home field advantage beats a superior, rested team, and their ace. Why would you then suggest the superior team wouldn't be able to do the same at home?
