There is one fly in the ointment. This is an 1881-S silver dollar, and nice examples of this coin are almost as common as sharks’ teeth. These coins were well made with many P-L examples, and large numbers of these coins are known in MS-64 and better.

Getting a star on an 1881-S is not quite as hard as finding a 1970-D half dollar in a bank roll, but it’s close.

I do agree with the grade ...

Nice looking coin. I like the luster, however I do not believe it will get a star.

Ah, 1881-S Morgans. Quite possibly the pinnacle of the minting craft in terms of 19th century business strikes.

Based on the images provided, I don't see the coin as star worthy.

TOTAL NEWBIE, makes no sense and seems very paradoxical and counter-intuitive.

Is it a very lame attempt at sarcastic humor??

FACT if I stop posting, trillions and trillions of transistors would be out of work.

I agree that it is not a star worthy coin but it is still a nice common date MS example.

It was very hard to get the true quality of the surface from my camera. I really think it is a beautiful coin. The surfaces are quite PL in spots. Unfortunatly I will admit they are not 100% PL
