I like the VCC because I prefer to deal with PMs.

Love the VCC and its format. Like it a lot more then 100 replies in a regular sales topic. I've seen sales topics with over 100 replies and I don't even open them (might miss out on a deal, I know)
I like to see a booth with all the books. (why don't sellers use that format in the sales anyway - just wondering)
I have been at this con many times (not always buying).
Lot's of positive to say about the con but... The negative about the con (or room for improvement)
There seems less books on sale then in the past. (and less sellers) To many empty booths or booths that only go online on Sunday. It needs more books. A lot more!
However, for those selling there. Thank you and please do so again next time as I will return again and again

However, for those selling there. Thank you and please do so again next time as I will return again and again I think the VCC is about 1/3 of the size it was a few years ago. I guarantee that books sell better as full images rather than clickable thumbnails. When looking at many thumbnails we tend to quickly scan them and click anything we've been looking for, when looking at a sales thread with large images we're more likely to pop on a book with a cool cover even if it isn't on our must have list. Personally, I really like the thumbnail format too. But I agree, many folks won't even look at your stuff if it is in that format over in the regular sales threads.

I think this is a good idea...
most of the Booths use the same/similar format with the small clickable thumbnails... how about we make a format change/exception:
Each booth is encouraged/allowed to lead its booth off with a "Featured Sale" and this featured book could be shown at a higher res/larger size to grab peoples attention. It could be a key book, a high grade book, or just a book the seller really wants to sell.
taking it to the next level, we could then even pollinate the regular sales thread with a VCC Featured Sales thread where the featured items from each booth could get some additional visibility and maybe pull some additional eyes over from the more regularly attended sales forums.... Not sure who would be in charge of that thread... I guess the VCC mod could own it and quote from the VCC over to the G/S/B and Modern sales forums...
thoughts?

This was my first VCC as a seller, and it was a big learning curve which meant I didn't get as much posted as I had planned. Still got a fair amount up, but next time I'll be ready with a template before hand. I didn't too bad considering it was my first booth and had so much more scanned than made it up. Actually I'm still working out some additional sales from some folks that saw a few things and saw that I had listed books I didn't get a chance to put up and are still filling up their box. I made a lot more sales after it was over than during, and met some new folks who I hope to deal with again. So thanks to everyone that visited my semi complete booth.
One strange thing, though, is that after all that work, it was such a short time to be seen. I enjoyed doing the thumbnails and getting everything organized and presented in such a different way from the sales threads. I'm tempted to copy it and move it over, even though I hear a lot of people say the format doesn't work as well on the sales forum.
As a seller it's much easier to maintain and update, and as a buyer at least I find it much easier and faster to find things without clicking and scrolling through page after page. Has anyone every though of trying a longer duration VCC thread, where sellers could keep their booths open and keep them updated and restocked for a longer period of time, and buyers would be able to come back and browse and find some things they had missed. It would also give a chance to be able to respond to requests by PM for certain titles or genres.
I know the biggest problem would probably be vendors that abandon their booth or stop updated or adding to it. But I can imagine that vendors that seriously wanted to do this would agree to update their booth at no longer than x amount of time, and if life intruded for a while they would simply put a "sign" at the top of the booth saying, "Gone fishing will return at this time"
When I start to sell I do it in spurts of intense energy for about a month, trying to update and add new things as close to daily as I can. The problem with this on the sales forum is, as others have pointed out, after a month the thread becomes so long it becomes a chore to update and as a buyer to browse through.
Just a crazy thought here at 4am. I guess there is nothing stopping me from using this format for an extended sale on the sales forum. I still have a ton of books to sell.

I would love to see this. But we might be the only one. I already mentioned before that I don't go into sales threads with 100 pages. ( my lose, I know) I would love to see everything on the first page. But that's just me...
