shirohniichan shirohniichan TOTAL NEWBIE Registered: 01/28/02 Posts: 7204 Loc: South Central Orange County	The Wall Street Journal today lists the Angels (a.k.a The Los Angeles Angels, The California Angels, The Anaheim Angels, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim) as the big WAR winners over the off-season. Pujols and C.J. Wilson are a combined +13 wins over a Triple-A fill-in. Other winners are the Marlins, Tigers and Nationals. They didn't comment on the A's signing Manny to their Triple-A team, but I scratch my head at that move. I don't know how much it cost them, but for their sakes it better not have been much. How are your hopes for the coming season? Anyone brave enough to call this year's winners? The Angels look like they'll take the AL West if the Ranger's acquisition of Yu Darvish isn't a huge plus for them. _________________________ "I collect what you don't" Obscurum per obscurius

Their team is packed with a bunch of young guys who have something to prove. Please, just be better than last year!!!!!!!! Living in the DC area, the Nationals are supposed to be really good this year. Strasburg is back and healthy and Bryce Harper should have plenty of at-bats with the club. Lots of talk about the Marlins in the AL. It would be nice to see someone other than the Yankees at the top. _________________________

His contract is pro-rated so it works out to $300,000+ with no incentive clauses. He can't play until May 30 due to suspension and seems to be motivated to prove his worth in order to get one final decent contract and to shore up his image/legacy for the future. He could be a big help to the new signee from Cuba, as well as create interest for the team in terms of ticket sales and "dreadlock" caps. Also, he's not taking a spot or at bats from younger guys. Come June he'll either show he can contribute or be released. _________________________
