What if we make a donation towards the artist for their free sketches?

It's not about the sketches, that is something they are always free to do, it's the reprints of printed Marvel works that he got sued for. Now cover recreations, without subtle differences would fall under this category too of being illegal to sell.
Why is no one noticing that Marvel is the one selling these sketch blanks for us, how would they be able to sue us, or an artist?

This would be funny when they sue Hero Initiative and the artist down the road for them using their images and likenesses to make money for ailing artists

I read this too, but they only sued him for the prints that he sold.

This has always been. It's Fair Use. It's an issue if the artist takes the original media piece and duplicates it (prints). Then the copyright owner can intervene. Original sketches are still okay. Friedrich was selling prints of Ghost Rider from my understanding. Makes sense as he was a writer not an artist. Also, he was claiming to be the creator of Ghost Rider. Those are things for which Marvel took issue.
