Damn that is some sales model he uses - now he's even giving full refunds if the CGC grade falls short of what he guesses it to be????
But you can see how it works - for every buyer like the OP who gets it graded and either finds it to be restored or isn't satisfied with the grade, he returns their money.
But there are likely to be as many buyers who, like our OP, think it's a 9.6 and simply add it to their collection. (Given the fact that a CGC 9.6 has already reached $4500, I could imagine this happening). The likelihood of the book being a 9.8 for sale raw at less than 25% of the only CGC graded copy was pretty remote...
His "Legend" continues...
I am curious on what book he burned you on? Also, an off topic question, if you don't mind me asking. What did the sids af15 grade out to be after you sold it? Anyhow, you pulled some gorgeous books off the racks.
I actually bought 2 ASM #1's and an AF 15 from him.
both ASM's graded out a tad lower than advertised and both were restored. I think they were an 8.5 and an 8.0 and had either CT or trimming.
The AF 15 was trimmed (even I was suspicius when I first received it - I had NO IDEA who Comic Keys was at the time - learned it all on the boards). it graded higher than advertised around an 8.0.
He refunded the full selling price even though more than a year had gone by.
I actually never looked for nice copies - just grabbed the first one I saw...

Could I ask why you decided to support a known felon, who regularly rips off your collecting colleagues? Forget the personal risk, who would you want to validate him this way?
Didn't it occur to you that he remains in business - remains screwing people over - because people like you are willing to trade with a crook in the hopes of landing a 'sweet deal'?
very good points.... Batman 181 is my only answer... I'll never be able to afford an already slabbed cgc 9.8 version of that comic.. That one, and Batman 238, I'd probably do it again..

I know you are asking a rhetorical question, but why bother at this point. It's an addiction.

Because, Pat, all it takes if for one person to read this and decide not to do business with Dupcak and it will have been worth the 15 seconds it took to type it out.

I was upset, and gave a neutral for not refunding the cgc money. He contacted me, offered to pay all or half for revision and I revised the feedback ...I did revise the feedback, but I didn't take the money he offered. End of story...
Hm. Seems to me that Danny-boy's 100% positive feedback is precious to him. He is even willing to send back MONEY to preserve it.
