With the permision of Joe Pierson, GODOFTHUNDER Productions is proud to present to you a once in a life-time sketch opportunity with none other than Stuart Sayger.
If you do not know who Stuart Sayger is, then.....you must be hiding underneath a rock. He has done multiple covers for DC, Marvel, and is currently working on a relaunch of 30 Days and Nights for IDW. His artistic style is unique, yet demanding.
This sketch opp is limited to TEN SPOTS. SOLD OUT
And like my other opps, everything is included. However, I no longer have Avengers blanks, but I have X-Men, and a couple of the recently released Wolverine/X-Men, and Uncanny X-Men available. But I seriously doubt that will matter cause Stuart is a blank destroyer (you know what I mean).
These covers will be done from his home!!!!!
If you want to use your own blank, PM me, but I will need it by no later than November 12th.
Cost for the opp is as follows:
$170 Single Character - Front Cover
$240 WRAP-AROUND COVER - Maybe an option for Two Characters
As stated before, EVERYTHING IS INCLUDED, grading, blank, and return shipping. If you live in another country, Canada ect... shipping will be worked out at the end of the grading period.
is king. Payment can be made via Paypal...
Questions? PM me
Let the fun begin.

Stuart does a ton of shows throughout the year (in the last month alone he was at NYCC, Mid Ohio and he'll be at WW Austin this week as well) - if you missed this op, just hit him up at one of the 15 (!) shows he's doing in 2012:

Just got this back from Baltimore. Stuart killed this sketch even though I gave him a glossy Zero Hour. Just imagine how sweet these are gonna be with good covers!
Guys, let me start off by saying that Stuart is by far one, if not, the best creator that I have ever worked with. He has answered every e-mail, and took the time to make sure that every request was filled. Not only that, he went ahead and finished the covers ahead of his IDW project.
So here ya go:

Wow these are awesome, saygers stuff is just simply jaw dropping amazing. Love mine of course (Punisher), and my roomate was floored with his (Colossus). My other faves are the Hulk & 'agneto which was my roomies original choice. Thanks Stuart, thanks Adonis! Anytime there is another opp I am in 100%, I need a collection of just his stuff.

All of these covers are really well done, and I would love to own more than just the one that I have. A super huge thanks to Adonis for putting these opps on.
And to Mr. Sayger, thank you for my book! It came out great, and you went above and beyond what I was hoping for in my book. If you happen to read our thoughts in this thread - THANK YOU! I Love my book!

Just got this in, my brother's Bleez...we got it fast tracked
Was curious about the 9.0, figured there was a lot of scuffs on the back. Turned it over and got a cool surprise. I have heard Stuart has a sense of humor about CGC grading. Guess CGC doesn't feel the same way If they did I'm sure it would have gotten a better grade
In any case it is pretty cool and unique...that is until I see if you guys got something similar

Yeah it was. I really like the one up though this weekend from him. Great timing for my wife's 98 Civic to have quit working today.

I am so in, now the question is would it be cool to get him to sketch on one of the new Batman blanks or with his style would that be kind of limiting what he can do with the full on borders??

Yeah which is why I wonder if it would be silly to have him do a sketch on such a blank since he is likely to just have his amazing artwork roll over most if not all of the borders when it is all said and done. Hell I could see the finish product have no borders still on it.

I think he would do that. He likes doing comic book related stuff. He won't do likeness like potraits or characters that are umm....not comic book?

Quick questions - Is the price going to be about the same? Are there a choice of blanks available?

Ok, I need ideas for what to get done by Sayger. Anyone think I would be crazy to let him go to town on one of the new German Batman blanks with the most evil Batman he can pull off? Tell him to go to town with his art taking out the borders.

It's my plan to have him do Batman & his Villains over time on the Batman Blanks too. I know he'll kill whatever it is you wanna do, I'm never dissapointed in his stuff, he always comes through. So I say go for it!

Welcome to the boards and congrats on getting in on this amazing opp.
So everyone wants Batty on the new blanks. Ok may have to have him do some sort of crazy villain to start off instead of Batty. Or maybe a naughty scene of Batman and Catwoman to go with the new DC 52.
Would be scary to see what Sayger may do with a spread like that.

Not bad for your first post. You locked a Sayger sketch op!

Thanks for the welcomes, excited, yet also nervous to jump in on what could potentially be a very expensive habit.
I've been trolling for a couple of months or so (right after NYCC) and once I saw the posts for Stuarts work and the other posts from GODOFTHUNDER, I knew I had to sign up and take one. I'll just have to find something else to distract me until we get those sketches back... maybe look at other sketch opps!
No need to thank me, thank Stuart next time you see him at a show. He's the reason why these opps happen. Without artists like him, the sketch opps would be non existant.

I am curious but where is Sayger located out of? I see he likes to show up at a local comic shop in my area (Bell Book and Comic) a few times a year to I guess sign stuff and do sketches.

Cool, had to figure he was somewhere in the Indiana/Ohio/Kentucky area based on his more frequent stops scheduled for this year. Looks like I will be running into him 4+ times this year. Looking forward to getting a bunch of sketches done by him.
A message to all my fans to purchased custom sketch covers...
Thanks goes out to everyone for supporting me and my work! I had a blast making this batch of sketch covers... I tried not to do anything too crazy when drawing this group, but there are a few where I may have pushed the boundaries... The Riddler cover has a hole drilled completely through the book at the site of the "dot" at the bottom of the "question mark".. the Riddler asks, "Why would I drill a hole in the cover of this comic? Answer: To make it a HOLE lot better" (corny , yes, but kinda fun too!) The Deadpool cover has three actual bullet holes through the cover where Deadpool's shoulder is... Deadpool states, " Shot 3 times!? At least they missed my beautiful face!" Also many of these cover feature added color or are a wrap around image where at the original requests were for fronts only to be executed in black and white. There is no rhyme or reason as to which covers became wrap arounds, or received color other than where my particular mood took me at that time... If you received color, or a wrap around image please consider this a special bonus... a way of me to say "Thanks everyone!" As many of you know, I normally don't work in color, but something came over me for a few days... I hope this group pleases everyone involved! I had a blast doing them! If the opportunity arises to do another batch in the future we might be able to do it all again.. I only want to stress that the wrap around covers and colors were done at my own discretion and should not be construed as representational of what to expect from future sketch covers... lastly... WOW.. THOSE BATMAN BLANKS ARE SO SO SO VERY HARD TO DRAW ON.. If anyone should make arrangements to get a sketch cover from me in the future I would ask that you NOT have it done on one of the blank German Batman covers... I tried erasing the front before drawing, I even sandpapered the front of one in an attempt to make the paper more receptive to inks... Nothing i tried seemed to work... The Bane cover was so difficult and demanding that I varnished the cover when it was finished to help hold all the inks/ paints together... ( that's why it is shiny in the photo)
They'll be making their way to CGC in the next few days! I hope all is well.. Please PLEASE give 'em a good home! Thanks so very much everyone... it really means a lot!

they are all epic, but that archangel is fantastic! love it - if only it was mine!
Oh hell yeah!
This has got to be the craziest opp on the boards so far. Stuart went above and beyond on every one these. I love my Archangel and all the others as well, especially Galactus. The sketches from this Opp represent some of Stuarts best sketch cover work to date.
Thanks Stuart! And Thanks Adonis!

Great sketches all around. Congrats to the owners. I feel bad for the guy at cgc who has to grade 3 actual bullet holes in the book. I'll be surprised to see what kind of grade it gets.

Yep the bullet holes Deadpool was my brainchild. Looks like Adonis decided to re-do my pre-shot holes ... The inspiration came to me after viewing Stu's last round of sketches and I thought now THAT would be awesome.
I am in awe of what the final product looks like and have to extend a BIG thanks to Stu and Adonis. This cover is really awesome, can not wait to see it in person!

So you went to the range, checked in. The guy at the counter says do you need a target or a silhouette. You say no I got this comic book I need to shoot real quick. I can see the look on their faces.

That Riddler is sharp looking. Love my Bane w/ Batman cowl all I can say is CGC do what you want with grading it, it is still badass. Purple/Yellow Green/Yellow label whatever they want to do with it the sketch it will still be up on my wall.
Hell with how Sayger adds his personal touch on these books now would be a good time to add a new color label, I say break out the black label on Sayger's sketches.
I spent a little time with him @ Gem City. He really seems to enjoy working on sketch covers and he has some more interesting (read: destructive) ideas for future efforts.

So are fast tracked books falling as far behind now as everything else at CGC when it comes to grading?
I got to talk with Stuart in person for a little while today and had a blast. It was fun talking to him about these sketch ops and how much he enjoys doing the crazy things like cutting a book up, pulling the staples out, etc. He was telling me about his latest submission for the Heroes Initiative's next round of auctions and I couldn't stop smiling about what he did to the book.

hiccup like grades got mixed up or like a Mad estranged Umpa Lumpa tore through cgc's vault, ravaging everything in sight until his craving for chocolate is full-filled by eating troves of magical treasures?

The books were subbed to CGC, but somehow, none of the fast track books were, well fast tracked. They are already in the system and I cannot be billed for Fast Track, because it will be as though hitting the reset button. Grades should be coming down the pipeline. If you paid for Fast Track, I can refund the $10 OR use as a credit towards a future sketch opp.
Please PM me with you choice/request.
Gracias to all!

I got my sketch in the mail today, it does annoy me that CGC sometimes just randomly uses the thicker cases than the normal ones when the book would fit no questions asked. Had a frame ready for this but will have to now find one to hold the thicker case.
The Bane sketched turned out very nicely. Not sure how the book got a 9.8 though, it had some damage to it on the spine (German Batman Blank) that would have normally had it a 9.6 on a very good day but I am guessing that Sayger's artwork did a perfect job of covering those defects up for it to snag a 9.8.
I will try to get some good pics up here shortly. Thank you Adonis for the sketch OP.

Here are my crummy pics from my iPhone. I will have the wife take better pics with her DSLR camera later. I really like how the Batman cover still kind of finds it way through the background of the sketch on the front and back of the covers.

Anyone else, I want to see some more sweet pics of Sayger's finished product.
Now to find me a damn frame thick enough for these thicker CGC cases. Anyone have a suggestion on a good frame, I usually get frames from FrameItAgainSam but don't want to place an order for just 1 frame.
