I've seen (and contributed to) a thread somewhere in the depths of modern which another boardie set up to log and capture cover pics of all the variants.

I've just tried searching but can't find it.

Alternatively, you could try Zenescopes own website which shows all variants provided by themselves (I.e. Not the Jay Co's etc).

I've tried using th census previously butbI'm fairly certain there are quite a few missing and possibly some variants which are listed twice with differen descriptions.

Doing a search on comic Collector Live returns 236 covers for the first 62 issues.

That's go to be the most comprehensive list readily available.

It doesn't show cover shots for some of the more risqué covers but most are on there.

Precisely the reason why i've just about had it with GFT, despite the girls. I think they've beaten this horse to death (i.e. same covers in different stages of undress)....

I quite like the amount of variants, especially the lower print run ones.

Rather than simply aiming on completing the whole GFT run, it can be broken down into mini
milestones.

I usually select an issue then aim on getting all the available variants before moving on to another issue.

It may be manufactured collectibles but I personally really enjoy the challenge.

Plus the quality of the variants far exceeds that of the variant dross churned out by the big two month on month.

Zombie variant - Yawn
Flavour of the month character variant - Yawn
Flavour of the month movie variant -Yawn
Too lazy to produce any art blank variant - Yawn

You're right, "exactly the same cover but with a different color g-string variant" really raises the bar.

Point taken

Guess I was just getting a little pissy about the flak that the title tends to get.

I know that it's not to everyones taste and I respect that. If we all read the same books we'd be inundated with spandex wearing, dark and broody zombie killing vigilantes.

In the outset, I really enjoyed the concept of the title, taking the fairy tales back to their horror roots (Yes - I actually read the words rather than looking at the covers).

I suppose on some level I agree with your arguement. The covers are now the concept and the interiors are there to bulk the book out. The writing (Pre Dream Eater) was becoming poor to the point that I didn't read any of my floppies circa issues 40 - 55. Dream Eater has tempted me back into reading them so I may revist the last couple of dozen books.

Getting back to the original point, I'd quite like to see Zenescope release a cover collection hardcover. Every issue and every variant in a nice glossy oversized HC

You're wrong, it's not just the color but also the size of the underwear that is changing... (from small, to smaller, to none for the very low prints)

Only goofing around... (I love this comics and get sucked into buying them)

Most titles have people who don't like them... but we have to decide if the reasons are legitimate.
If the reasons are legitimate, then it's just a matter of time before the majority of people (even the buyers) have the same thoughts.

At some point, enough people will stop buying (soft)porn passing itself off as comic books.
They'll get tired of buying five copies of the same book with four different g-strings and one without.

There are those who never bought them in the first place.
There are those who bought them, then got tired of all the variants and now only buy a few (saying "Yawn" to the others).
There will soon be those who bought them and finally got tired of all of it and quit buying them.

At that point, the fad will be over. That time is getting really close.

Fast-forward 10 to 20 years and it will start again, and a whole new group will buy these kinds of books thinking they're awesome...
and a lot of the people who buy them now will be trying to warn them that it's a waste of time.
And those future fans will complain about all the flak that the title gets.
Rinse. Repeat.
