I am curious if anyone here has had good OA restoration results with a specific restoration pro- I have a piece that needs work on it. I am attempting to get some quotes on what the work will cost.
A search has shown me two likely candidates- Robert Dennis at "A Graphic State of Mind" and Matthew Wilson at "Fantasy Masterpieces" (does anyone have Matthew's phone #? His website says you can call him but I did not see the number listed. I did email last week)
If anyone knew of any other reputable pros out there, I would appreciate if you could let me know, and I'll contact them too
Thanks for any help

i've used gordon christman twice. he is in san francisco..... there are before and after pics of a john buscema avengers 84 splash that he worked on for me in my CAF gallery. the price didn't seem insane to me either.

A couple of other ideas:
1) Matt Nelson of Classics Incorporated cleaned a piece for me and reattached various glued items. You can see the before and after. It's hard to see in the scans, but the original had yellowed and the glue had stained the paste-ons. It was pretty unsightly.
2) If you live in a major metropolitan area, you could contact local museums and ask for the name of local paper conservators.

Thanks for the help guys.
All those that were referred seem very skilled, and I have learned in talking to some of them that there is more than one way to skin a cat/restore a damaged piece of art. Interesting in how there are different views/ways to deal with my particular OA problem.
