I'm going to my first con in 15 years, primarily to get some SS opportunities.
Is it worth it to get the ($200) VIP pass?
Will it help me get better positioning for special SS situations?

Honestly, I do not think the VIP pass will help. You will go through the same entrance as retailers, professionals, and guests. There is a possibility that for some ticketed autograph signings, a portion of those tickets will only be given to VIP badge holders in the VIP lounge. Even then, you are competing with all the other VIP badge holders.

Then again, to be fair, as an online retailer I've gotten in to these shows w/a retailer badge, so I'm not sure what the normal lines are like to get in. Since the C2E2 folks haven't posted what signings they are doing and which ones are ticketed, I'm not sure if the VIP badge would possibly be worth it. Sorry, this probably wasn't much help, but my vote is to save your money.

VIP Pass is only good if it allows you to enter con early on Fri. during the Pro hours of 10:00 to 1:00 pm AND your fave artist, inker, writer is there that early to sign comics. Gen'l admission Fri is 1:00 to 7:00 pm.

There are only 500 VIP tickets and this is from the C2E2 website:

What's included?
Guaranteed seating in the IGN Theater
A separate entrance with early access to the show floor
An exclusive Alex Ross sketch poster and T-Shirt
An Alex Ross designed badge
A VIP-Only Lounge and Coat Check
10% off all C2E2 branded items in the show store
10% off and 48 hours early access to all autographing, meet and greet, and special guest packages.

The $200 VIP pass may be worthwhile if you are dying for a Neil Gaiman sig. Think his special pass is $250 alone for his reading which gets you special access to Gaiman which will hopefully include at least 1 sig but this is not specified on the C2E2 site.

I asked whether a CGC witness would be present for the Gaiman "Dream" package, but received no reply. I don't think you should assume that there's going to be any sort of Gaiman signing opportunity at C2E2, unfortunately.

FYI, from the C2E2 Events thread:

Yes - only via the Dream Experience Tickets $250. All $$$ goes to charity.

Wish they would have replied on the witness question...

According to C2E2 customer service, (and I'm not saying who I spoke to is 100% accurate), the VIP pass does NOT get you into the Neil Gaiman event, that is a separate deal....
Anyone have any input on this?

Okay, posted before I saw the other comments...
So essentially...for a host of OTHER people I'd like to be somewhat assured I can get SS's from (I'm assuming scheduled signature events will absolutely have a CAW there), it might be a good ideal to get the VIP pass?

Also, when the heck are they going to post that signature event schedule?
