Let's say that someone has a horde of graded comics featuring the old labeling system, but absolutely adores the new labels you guys have intoduced. The re-encapsulating rules state that the CGC case must be "chipped or scratched" to qualify for the re-holder service.

So could someone send in a perfectly pristine slab and get it re-encapsulated with the new labels?

Also, does this mean it will receive the same grade once placed inside the new holder, seeing as how the original slab was in perfect condition?

You can send in an unbroken slab for the New Holder service, simply to get a new label. All comics placed in the New Holder service are reviewed to check that the damage to the holder has not affected the grade of the comic. If the holder is not damaged, the grade will not change.
