Accurate DC Whitman list??

After cataloguing one of my recent eBay wins and finding yet another DC Whitman variant that is not listed in Overstreet (in this case Batman 311), I am wondering if anyone might direct me to a more accurate list?

I've got a customer who loves completing odd checklists of items, and in addition to his four other lists, he's now talking about trying to put together a set of the DC Whitmans. This guy is a collector's collector. No intention of resale, no interest in following trends. He's currently completing his set of all Marvel and DC Bronze Age books that have at least three female characters on the cover. Before that it was a set of every Bronze Age book where Spidey's face is on the front cover at least four times (#155 is a good example).

Anyway... both for education's sake, and to satisfy this customer, can anybody point me to a better list? If not, can anyone fill in other gaps in the Overstreet that they know of (like the Bat 311)?

If I do much more business for this guy, I might just have to put my Orca collection together... I have joked for years about getting all the comics with Orca ads on the back cover... Who says you can't be both a dealer and a collector?

Don't make a list just on my account... I know that the majority of them are listed in Overstreet at this point, but there are still quite a few that aren't. I figured one of the Bronze Age completionists might have compiled an accurate list, but I didn't find one in my Googling...

I don't think so... although I could load a dumpster with all the promo stuff I have received featuring Hulk in the last few months... At last count, Diamond had shipped me 32 different posters since March 31st that feature Hulk in some way... I keep all the actual promo comics I get from them in a separate file, I don't recall a Hulk book though...

Chuck's Mile High Comics website has a lot of information on which books have Whitman variants that he's come across. No list per se, but if you check out each title individually he will list the variant issues if he knows about them.

There was an article on DC Whitmans in Comic Book Marketplace about a year or two back but I don't remember the issue or if they had a list. Here are the Whitmans found in Comicspriceguide.com but it is not complete. I know that it is missing Superfriends and New Adventures of Superboy for example. I was trying to compile this list a few months back but?.

I could be wrong, but didn't Doug Sulipa have a list that was published in CBM or somewhere. If not, I'd be willing to bet that he would be a tremendous starting point.

I know that DC Comics Presents 1 and 2 had Whitman variations, also the Superman vs. Muhammad Ali and Superman 1 "treasury" sized books. SuperFriends had a lot as well.

I may be totally offbase here,but I thought the Supes vs. Ali Whitmans were supposed to be destroyed or something. I think I recall being at a show and Bob Rozakias making a big stink out of someone having a couple and threatining to cut them off of DC books.Anybody know anything about this?

Ok, I found my old Whitman list and added a few I have discovered in the past few days. This list is probably not complete and I don't have a current price guide to check but maybe Lighthouse, FD or someone else can add to this list of known Whitman variants. This list is especially weak when it comes to the DC Presents, Super Friends and New Adventures of Supeboy entries. Just for background this list is compiled based on various sources and although all are reliable a mistake or two may hae crept in especially since most or all variants didn't have the issue numbers on the cover. OK, I got another Whitman variant list from a local collector I know and I also found the list that Doug Sulipa put in CBM #95 and below is what I believe is the most accurate list out there. I had some that Doug's list did not and he had some that I didn't list. The most suprising addition that Doug had was a Sgt. Rock 329 which I had never heard of before and will now hunt down. So unless someone knows for sure of any others this will be it. I hope this helps your customer out Lighthouse. Good luck finding all 164(if my math is correct). Here is the list:
