At long last, below please find a list of slabbed books that have been resubmitted to CGC and resulted in either an upgrade or downgrade. There is still further work to be done (primarily to input the serial numbers of many of the GA books), but in light of the recent discussions of some newly discovered upgraded books, it seemed like it was better to put it up sooner rather than later.

This is still (and will always be) a work in progress, so please let me know of any additional books you`re aware of, any errors in the database, and any confirmations/evidence that some sort of work was done or not done to a book.

Many thanks to the board members, dealers and collectors who provided information, and major kudos in particular go to Arty, for assembling his massive list of resubbed GAs (most of which are Church books), and to Redhook for his expertise in formatting the database so I could post it here.

[please refer to most updated version of the database posted later in this thread]

I can't remember, but was that the one stapled book with the re-attached centerfold?

That`s Nearmint`s book. There`s a thread about it, and it is a perfect illustration what a huge difference pressing can make for certain types of defects.

I 'love' the ones that went from 8.5 to 9.6.

Do we know for anything for certain about the Reilly Detective 89? Metro has had it for over a year. Is there a scan anywhere of it as a 9.2? Perhaps, it was a simple resubmit?

2 things;

file would be a LOT smaller if you made it a .gif and limited the # of colours in the output. A LOT smaller.

and if you email me the file - email's in the profile - i can work over the coming weeks to convert it to HTML for upload to someones's site

Wow, the vast majority of these got better grades the second time around. Is that evidence of pressing or other forms of improvement, or have CGC's standards been easing over time?

I didn`t indicate anywhere that work had been done to it. Unless I have pretty solid evidence or confirmation from one of the parties involved that work was done, I will not indicate that any work has been done.

Inclusion of a book on this list does NOT necessarily mean that it was pressed and/or restored in any manner. Unless otherwise indicated, it only means that a book used to be one CGC grade and was resubmitted and received a different CGC grade. Of course, everyone is free to draw their own conclusions.
