I have some comics that have dust on the covers. Would it be ok to spray them down with lemon pledge to get the dust off, or would this be a bad thing?

A wet paper towel should suffice...

Spit shine and elbow grease always works on mine . . .

Take a vacuum cleaner preferably a wind tunnel and hold it down on the cover. Do this repeatedly until all of the dust comes off. If that doesnt work than get a washboard and rub them up and down it. Then I put them in the microwave to dry them. let me know how it goes.

I've had this problem with games that I collect. I've had good luck buying dust mites and letting them graze on the dust. Just get a big aquarium or similar structure or the mites will multiply too much and you'll have problems from that.

Don't do anything. The dust forms a protective barrier keeping cosmic rays, UV light, and bird-flu at bay.
It's one of those give and take things we all learn to deal with.

What is so bad?

My comic book collection I got from my brother I sprayed lemon pledge (VERY LITGHTLY I know what wet does to paper) on a wash cloth and did a up and down rub on the cover. Took all dirt (No ink) off. And left the comic nice and great looking. BUt lucky for me I have no plans to sell my collection. But really. What could it possibly do? So if you don't sell it, I say use lemon pledge. AND A WASH CLOTH.

Best thing to do is dump them on eBay to some unsuspecting sucker that doesn't know any better.
