We will be performing some maintenance on our server Wednesday, March 3 from 4:30pm - 5pm Central. The Collectors Society, NGC, CGC and NCS websites will be unavailable during this time. The PMG website will remain up however, some functionality will not be available during this time. This outage will not affect the message boards.

We updated the look of the default boards stylesheet today and made a few layout changes that should carry through to the other stylesheets. Notably:
1. We moved the original poster of a thread into a column of its own on the left.
2. We moved the pagination for a thread to the right of the title instead of underneath it.
3. We changed the "register" link for unregistered users to "Join Now"
Most of the rest of the changes were to the default stylesheet and are updates to colors and borders to better distinguish between posts in a forum thread list. This should particularly help unregistered users who saw all posts in the "read" format registered users see for posts they have already viewed.

Hi guys,
I'm thinking about just turning off the column on the left side of the page for all users. Right now it's on by default and each user can individually choose to turn it off.
First time visitors, however, are presented with the page including the left side column. There's been some discussion that we would be better off with a a cleaner and simpler layout for those users - and maybe for everyone. Thus we might just remove it.
Please give us a hand by offering some feedback in our poll.

Scheduled server maintenance for Monday morning will result in some down time for our websites between 9am and 11:30am EST. The maintenance windows will be as follows:
9 AM to 10AM EST – All sites (ngccoin.com, cgccomics.com, ncscoin.com, pmgnotes.com, collectors-society.com, collectiblesgroup.com) will be unavailable.
10 AM to 11:30 AM EST – Static content will be available on the individual company sites (ngccoin.com, cgccomics.com, ncscoin.com, pmgnotes.com, collectiblesgroup.com). This means that users will be able to view publicly available information (articles, general company info, etc.) on the company sites but anything dynamic (logging in, cert verification, census, etc.) will still be down during this period. Collectors Society (collectors-society.com) will still be completely down during this period and show a “This site down for maintenance” page.
The message boards will remain online during the entire scheduled maintenance period.
We apologize for any inconvenience.

Hello all,
This is just a heads-up that various people are having problems accessing the boards at times. This is no doubt tied to our move to a new (and faster) server somehow.
We're looking at the problem to determine the cause. Because the problem is only happening for some people this will take some time to track down. This is particularly true because we can't reproduce it directly.
We will post an announcement when we have some results.

THURSDAY MORNING, 7/17/2008 STARTING AT 8:30AM CDT
THE BOARDS WILL BE DOWN FOR APPROXIMATELY 5 HOURS FOR AN UPGRADE
We will be performing an upgrade to a newer version of the message board software on Thursday, 7/17/2008. This upgrade will come with a number of small fixes and feature enhancements. A list of changes appears at the bottom of this post. There will be no major display changes to the site. However, if you have any comments or spot any issues with the upgrade, please use the Message Boards Feedback forum.
In addition to the basic upgrade, we are introducing a new, relatively painless opportunity for the community to help support the expansion and maintenance of the Collectors Society. The new upgrade includes a feature that will convert eBay links on the boards to include an eBay affiliate code. eBay’s affiliate program allows places like the Collectors Society to generate revenue from the traffic they help to drive to eBay.
As most of you probably realize, there are costs involved in hosting, maintenance and improvement of the software tools we provide through the Collectors Society. These new links will give the community a no-hassle way to help us continue to expand and upgrade the services we make available. We have a lot of exciting ideas around new ways to make collecting a shared and fun experience online, and we’re equally excited about finding easy ways for the membership to contribute to and accelerate that process.

Feature Summary
• Introducing UBB.Gallery
This is a new feature that allows you to use certain forums as Photo Galleries. The Gallery forums have a unique Forum Icon looking like a camera.
• Mark a Forum as Read
The New Post Icon next to a forum can now be double-clicked to mark an individual and sub forums to be marked as ALL Read.
• Who's On-line More Details

• Quick Full Reply
A New Button under the quick reply box "Switch to Full Reply"
This will keep your text in the quick reply and place it
into the full reply for you. Where you can access all the Active panel controls.
• Leaving a Private Message Notice
When someone removes themselves from a private message / topic a note will be added to the topic to let other participants know.
• Images with a Descriptions
When using the File / Image Manager you can now add a description {caption}
to appear underneath your picture. Available with the uploader only.
• Moods have Moved
Changed the online /off line indicator next to users name,
you can hover over it to see text of that mood.
• Who is in a Private Message
private messages, it will now show all participants in each private message.
• E-mail with Forum Name as Type And Subject
When you receive an e-mail from our forums, it will also contain
the Forum and the Topic Title in the Subject line.
• Private Message E-mails
Are now sent with full content to your e-mail address.
• Private Message Limit Bar
You can now see in a progress bar in "My Messages" how many private message you can receive "Total"
• Happy Birthday
Automatic Birthday Wished to members on their Birthday.
• Attachment Limits
Members now have an Attachment limit total visible when using
the file / image manager to assist them. This will inform you
how many images you can upload.
• New Active Posts
Now you can view the Last Active Posts or Active Topics
• Gallery Pictures in a side Island.
The latest Gallery Images can now be viewed in side islands.
• User Information On the Top Or Side of a post view?
By visiting "My Preferences" you can now choose to view user details on the top of a post or at the side where it is now.

• View all Topics Started by a member.
By visiting "A Member's Profile" select "Show User's Posts" and then select Topics Created or All Posts
• Spoiler Tags.
These can be accessed via the Full Reply screen. "S" with the Diagonal line. What are spoiler tags for?
There are many reasons.
a. ) A Review and you don't want to spoil the ending.
b. ) A joke with a funny ending.
c. ) Or the answer to a question.

Several areas of the CCG websites now require a login and password. If you are an Authorized Dealer or a Collectors Society member, you can use your preexisting login for immediate and FULL site access. If you do not have an account, create a Pass Key account. A Pass Key for this site is free and gives you access to many its features. Simply click on the “Interested in Joining?” link found at the login area on the left to complete a brief new member form.
These changes were made to accommodate a series of new and upcoming website features, including member home pages, expanded site content, improved email list management features, and much more! All of these tools will help to keep you better informed about new services as they come online. We’re committed to enhancing your experience as a collector by providing you with industry leading tools and information.
Also, if you always use the same computer, take advantage of the Remember Me feature when you login. This will keep you logged in so that whenever you visit this site, you can proceed directly to password protected features without logging in.

We've just made some more style sheet options available on the boards (under My Stuff - My Preferences).
Select "Your preferred stylesheet" and customize the board colors to your tastes.
